Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) disorders can affect the senses, speech, breathing, and eating. Some common ENT disorders include:

  1. Hearing problems: Tinnitus, hearing loss, and impacted ear wax
  2. Throat problems: Difficulty swallowing, hoarseness, loss of voice, and tonsillitis
  3. Breathing problems: Snoring, sleep apnea, and blocked airways
  4. Other problems: Dizziness, balance issues, and nosebleeds

Otolaryngology, also known as otorhinolaryngology, is a medical specialty that focuses on the head and neck, including the ears, nose, and throat. Otolaryngologists, also known as ear, nose, and throat (ENT) doctors, provide diagnosis and treatment for conditions in these areas through both medical and surgical means

Oral surgery refers to any surgical procedure performed on your teeth, gums, jaws or other oral structures. This includes extractions, implants, gum grafts and jaw surgeries. Oral surgery is usually performed by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon or a periodontist. These are dental specialists who have advanced training in oral surgery procedures.

Head and neck surgery is used to treat conditions affecting the mouth, head, throat, glands and sinuses, as well as both benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) tumors in the head and neck region.

Audiology, the study, assessment, prevention, and treatment of disorders of hearing and balance.

Hearing loss and balance disorders are often linked because both systems rely on the inner ear's complex structures. Inner ear issues can cause problems with hearing and balance, and vice versa.

A myringotomy is a surgical procedure that involves making a small incision in the eardrum to drain fluid from the middle ear. The fluid can be blood, pus, or water. The procedure is often recommended to treat otitis media with effusion, or fluid in the ear. A myringotomy can also relieve pressure in the middle ear and help prevent future infections.

Pediatric Otolaryngology โ€” Head & Neck Surgery team is recognized for its expertise in diagnosing, treating and managing a wide range of conditions that impact the airway, voice, hearing, speech and sinuses.

A hearing aid is a small electronic device that you wear in or behind your ear. It makes some sounds louder so that a person with hearing loss can listen, communicate, and participate more fully in daily activities. A hearing aid can help people hear more in both quiet and noisy situations. However, only about one out of five people who would benefit from a hearing aid actually uses one.

A cochlear implant is a small electronic device that can help people who are severely hard of hearing or profoundly deaf sense sound. It consists of two parts: an external part that sits behind the ear and an internal part that's surgically placed under the skin

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.

Rhinology is the subspecialty of otolaryngology focusing on sinonasal and skull base disorders. Demographic disparities and SDH have been shown to affect several dimensions of rhinology care and research, including patient presentation, management, outcomes, and clinical trial enrollment.

Endoscopic surgeries are minimally invasive procedures that use a thin tube called an endoscope to access areas of the body that would be difficult to reach with traditional surgery. The endoscope has a tiny camera and light attached to a long, thin tube, and is inserted through a natural opening in the body, such as the mouth, nose, urethra.

Speech therapy is the assessment and treatment of communication problems and speech disorders. It is performed by speech-language pathologists (SLPs), which are often referred to as speech therapists.

Speech therapy techniques are used to improve communication. These include articulation therapy, language intervention activities, and others depending on the type of speech or language disorder.

Maxillofacial and skull base surgery are both types of surgery that can be performed on the face, jaw, mouth, and skull.

Endoscopic sinus surgery, also known as functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure that treats sinus conditions by opening the sinuses' natural drainage pathways. During the surgery, a doctor uses an endoscope and other tools to access the sinuses through the nostrils while the patient is asleep under general anesthesia.

Sinus and nasal surgery, also known as functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), is a procedure that opens blocked sinus pathways and clears infections. During the surgery, a surgeon inserts an endoscope with a camera and light into the nose and guides it to the sinuses.

ENT implants and devices are utilized for the determination, treatment or surgical treatment related to ear, nose and throat disorders.

Medical Devices in ENT means Ear tubes, specula, hearing aids, ENT bottles, surgical instruments etc are the examples of ENT medical devices. Otolaryngologist is a word for same medical specialty

Plastic surgery is a special type of surgery that can change a person's appearance and ability to function. Reconstructive procedures correct defects on the face or body.

The oral cavity contains salivary glands, which are exocrine glands that produce saliva and are part of the digestive system. Saliva helps with oral and overall health by moistening food, keeping the mouth clean, and reducing the risk of cavities and gum disease.

Nasal irrigation and topical drug delivery are both methods of treating the nasal cavity. Nasal irrigation involves flushing the nasal cavity with a saline solution to remove mucus, bacteria, and other substances. Topical drug delivery can include nasal sprays, irrigations, and other methods that deliver medications to the sinuses.

A comprehensive dental oncologic screening should be part of the pretreatment workup of patients who have head and neck cancer. This screening should be performed by a dentist who is familiar with the pathologic process of disease and type of treatment being rendered; in addition, he or she should comprehend the various morbidities associated with eradicating head and neck malignancy.

Allergy and immunology involves the management of disorders related to the immune system. These conditions range from the very common to the very rare, spanning all ages and encompassing various organ systems.

A thyroidectomy and a parathyroidectomy are both endocrine gland surgeries in the middle of the neck that treat conditions that affect the body's metabolism and calcium levels

Pediatric otolaryngology is the specialty of medical and surgical treatment of ear, nose, and throat (ENT) issues in children from newborns to the age of 17

Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) doctors may perform a physical exam and use diagnostic procedures to check for ENT problems. Some common ENT problems include:

  1. Nose: Rhinitis, nosebleeds, postnasal drip, deviated septum, nasal polyps, and nasal and paranasal tumors
  2. Ears: Severe ear pain that doesn't go away in 1โ€“2 days
  3. Throat: Sore throats that last several days, have a fever, and don't respond to pain medication

Otolaryngology (ENT)/Head and Neck Surgery - Tests and procedures

Speechโ€“language pathology is a healthcare and academic discipline concerning the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of communication disorders, including expressive and mixed receptive-expressive language disorders, voice disorders, speech sound disorders, speech disfluency, pragmatic language impairments, and social communication difficulties, as well as swallowing disorders across the lifespan.

Olfactory impairment, also known as olfactory dysfunction, is a condition that can affect a person's ability to smell or how they perceive odors. It can be caused by a number of factors, including:

  1. Sinonasal diseases: These can be treated with surgery or corticosteroids.
  2. Viral infections: COVID-19 can cause olfactory dysfunction, including anosmia (loss of smell) and dysosmia (altered perception of smell).
  3. Head injuries: These can cause irreversible neuronal loss that can't be treated.

A healthcare provider may recommend a nasal endoscopy if you have nasal congestion or blockage. During the procedure, the provider can use the endoscope to look for swelling, polyps, or other issues that may be causing your congestion. They can also collect samples for biopsy, remove polyps or other masses, or suction out debris.

Acoustic neuroma constitutes 80% of all cerebellopontine angle tumours and 10% of all the brain tumours. It is a benign, encapsulated, extremely slow-growing tumour of the 8th nerve. Microscopically, it consists of elongated spindle cells with rod-shaped nuclei lying in rows or palisades.

Venue and location

NH Danube City

Vienna, Austriaโ€™s capital, lies in the countryโ€™s east on the Danube River. Vienna offers a blend of imperial traditions, music, and endearing charm. A city that inspires with the old and the new alike, and always has a cosy place available in a coffee house or wine tavern. Viennaโ€™s history dates back to the first post-Christian century, when the Romans established the military camp Vindobona. Todayโ€™s cityscape is characterized by the abundance of Baroque buildings created mostly under the rule of Empress Maria Theresia (1740 - 1780) and Franz Joseph (1848 - 1916), who was largely responsible for the monumental architecture in the city's center.

Vienna developed from early Celtic and Roman settlements into a Medieval and Baroque city, the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It played an essential role as a leading European music centre, from the great age of Viennese Classicism through the early part of the 20th century. The historic centre of Vienna is rich in architectural ensembles, including Baroque castles and gardens, as well as the late-19th-century Ringstrasse lined with grand buildings, monuments and parks.

Right in the heart of the city, the Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral casts its shadows through narrow cobblestone streets. The palaces and parks of the Habsburg era - Schรถnbrunn Palace with the Gloriette and the zoo, Belvedere Palace, and the Hofburg palace - give the city an imperial air, enriched by beautiful buildings from the Art Nouveau period. On a trip along the Ringstrasse, we must see the Vienna State Opera, the Museum of Art History and its counterpart, the Museum of Natural History, the Parliament, the Burgtheater, and the City Hall.
